Revanche voor uitschakeling in dubbelspel
Britt Eerland heeft zich in Bremen geplaatst voor de tweede ronde van de Open van Duitsland bij de beloften.
In de openingswedstrijd van het hoofdtoernooi bij de -21-jarigen bleef ze nipt de betere van Miyu Maeda. Dat is een mooie revanche voor de uitschakeling in het dubbelspel aan de zijde van Linda Creemers tegen diezelfde Japanse.
Eerland wist een 0-1 en 1-2 achterstand in games tegen de als 15de geplaatste Maeda telkens weg te werken. Uiteindelijk kon Britt de vijfde game naar zich toe trekken en plaatst zich zo voor de tweede ronde. Daarin neemt ze het vanavond op tegen Lee Ho Ching uit Hongkong, het nummer zes in Duitsland.
