Na poulewinst in de 2e ronde van het landentoernooi bij de EJK speelden de Nederlandse jongens junioren om de plaatsen 29-32 eerst tegen Engeland.
De laatste poulewedstrijd tegen de Schotten werd overtuigend gewonnen door het Nederlandse trio Lode Hulshof, Barry Berben en Floris ZurMuhlen (3x 3-0). Nederland bevestigde daarmee dat het in deze poule duidelijk de sterkste was. Schotland werd hierdoor 2e.
Vervolgens stond in de strijd om de plaatsen 29-32 een duel tegen Engeland op de rol. Barry Berben gaf tegen de Engelse kopman goed partij maar kon de vijfde game niet naar zich toe trekken. Lode Hulshof (foto) was wel succesvol tegen de Engelse nr. 2 (3-0). Helaas kon Floris dit niet opvolgen tegen een laaggeklasseerde Engelse kadet (1-3) waardoor Nederland weer op achterstand kwam. Lode Hulshof kon daarna tegen de Engelse kopman de nederlaag niet voorkomen (1-3).
Nederland speelt morgen nog 1 duel in het landentoernooi tegen Estland met als inzet de 31e plaats.
