Bij het Europese jeugdkampioenschap in het Tsjechische Ostrava is het jongens junioren team op de 31e plaats geëindigd in het teamtoernooi. Lode Hulshof, Barry Berben en Floris ZurMuhlen wonnen de laatste teamwedstrijd met 3-0 van Estland.
Het teamtoernooi is voor de jongens junioren in grote lijnen zoals verwacht verlopen omdat het team ongeveer op de plaats is geeindigd waarop het volgens de rating ook was ingeschaald. Kansen op een hogere klassering waren er uiteraard wel maar de cruciale duels tegen Wit-Rusland, Oostenrijk en Engeland gingen verloren (0-3, 1-3, 1-3). Individueel was kopman Lode Hulshof (foto) ook degene die de meeste punten pakte en het hoogste winstpercentage behaalde (9 uit 12, 75%) gevolgd door Barry Berben en Floris ZurMuhlen die beiden 4 uit 8 scoorden.
